By employing some of the most sophisticated aerodynamics used in racing at the time, the Toyota GT One 99 was well positioned for Le Mans victory. Unfortunately, while in the lead in the last hour of the race, a tire lost pressure and the car had to limp back to the pits. It was able to finish second over all, but what a gutting loss.
